First Strike 1% ATC / 3% AFFF
Alcohol Resistant AFFF
U.S. Foam l%-3% AR/AFFF (ATC/AFFF) is a versatile fire fighting foam for protection of a wide range of Class B flammable liquid hazards. U.S. Foam 1%-3% AR/AFFF (ATC/AFFF) is an all synthetic film forming foam designed for protection of water-soluble polar solvents as well as water insoluble hydrocarbon flammable liquids. When used with fresh water and foam generating equipment U.S. Foams 1%-3% AR-AFFF is transformed into a vapor blanketing foam to provide extinguishing and securing abilities.
U.S. Foam 1%-3% AR-AFFF is recommended for use in a wide variety of fire fighting foam application devices. Examples are: foam chambers, forcing foam makers, and aspirating foam nozzles. In addition. practical applications have been demonstrated in a number of discharge devices such as non-aspirating sprinklers, water spray nozzles and water/fog nozzles.

U.S. Foam 1%-3% AR-AFFF may be stored in its shipping conatainer without change in its original physical or chemical characteristics. It does not show significant sedimentation or precipitation in storage after temperature cycling. Freezing and thawing have no effect on performance and the concentrate proportions satisfactorily in ordinary equipment at temperatures above 32 F.
Aqueous Film Forminations: U.S. Foam 1%-3% AR-AFFF, Iike all U S. Foam Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) Concentrates, has the ability to form an aqueous film which flows quickly over water-insoluble hydrocarbon fuel surfaces causing rapid tire extinguishment and vapor suppression.
Polymeric Properties: Provides a membrane-like protective layer that forms on water-soluble polar solvcnts (alcohols). The foam blanket and polymeric layer remain intact. Fire suppression and vapor control are positive.
Proportions Readily: Permits use in a wide range of proportioning equipment.
Solution Stability: Solutions of U.S. Foam 1%-3% AR-AFFF do not present "transit time" limitations through handlines or in fixed systems.U.S. Foam concentrates undergo a program of ongoing testing to assess the impact of U.S. Foam products on the natural environment. U.S. Foam products are low in toxicity to tested aquatic organisms. (Toxicity intformation is available from Product Environmental Data sheets, Material SafetyData Sheets and Toxicity Summary sheets for individual products.)
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT :
Aquatic life is not adversely affected when U.S. Foam products are used and desposed of properly. U.S. Foam products can be successfully treated in biological waste water treatment systems. (Request Product Environmental Data Sheets and Disposal Recommendations from your U.S. Foam representative.)
