U.S. Foam 3%-6%

Alcohol Resistant AFFF

U.S. Foam 3%-6% AR-AFFF is a versatile fire fighting foam for protection of a wide range of Class B flammable liquid hazards. U.S. Foam 3%-6% AR-AFFF is an all synthetic film forming foam designed for protection of water-soluble polar solvents as well as water insoluble hydrocarbon flammable liquids When used with fresh water and foam generating equipment, U.S. Foam 3%-6% AR-AFFF is transformed into a vapor-blanketing foam to provide extinguishing and securing abilities

RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS

U.S. Foam 3%-6% AR-AFFF is recommended for use in a wide variety of fire fighting foam application devices. Examples are: team chambers, forcing foam makers, and aspirating foam nozzles. In addition, practical applications have been demonstrated in a number of discharge devices. such as non-aspirating sprinklers. water spray nozzles and water/fog nozzles

TYPICAL PROPERTIES

FEATURES

Aqueous Film Formation:U.S. Foam 3%-6% AR-AFFF, like all U.S Foam Aqueous Film Storming Foam (AFFF) Concentrates, has the ability to form an aqueous film which flows quickly over water-insoluble hydrocarbon fuel surfaces causing rapid fire extinguishment and vapor suppression.

Polymeric Properties: Provides a membralle-like protective layer that forms on water-soluble polar solvents (alcohols). The foam blanket and polymeric layer remain intact. Fire suppression and vapor control are positive.

Proportions Readily: Permits use in a wide range or proportioning equipment.

Solution Stability: Solutions of U.S. Foam 3%-6% AR-AFFF do not present "transit time" limitations through handlilles or in fixed systems.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

U S Foam concentrates undergo a program of ongoing testing to assess the impact of U.S. Foam products on the natural environment. U.S. Foam products are low in toxicity to tested aquatic organisms. (Toxicity information is available from Product Environmental Data sheets, Material Safety Data Sheets and Toxicity Summary sheets for individual products.)

Aquatic life is not adversely affected when U. S. Foam products are used and disposed of properly U.S. Foam products can be successfully treated in biological waste water treatment systems (Request Product Environmental Data sheets and Disposal Recommendations from your U.S. Foam representatlve.)

STORAGE

U.S. Foam 3%-6% AR-AFFF may be stored in its shipping container without change in its original physical or chemical characteristics. It does not show significant sedimentation or precipitation in storage or after temperature cycling. Freezing and thawing have no effect on performance and the concentrate proportions satisfactorily in ordinary equipment at temperatures above 32°F.

Freeze- thaw cycling may cause slight stratification which may be overcome with moderate agitation. Annual inspections as prescribed in NFPA11 is recommended.
